The new boat last year - the "Blithe Speerit" - has survived the winter in the water. Right now she is being "prettified". Last year she had all sorts of re-construction and replacement jobs done. Now the goal is make her look appealing and ready to sit on and relax. Let's hope this can be achieved during the next few weeks!!

The gardens are ready to be planted and lst week we were ready to start. Now on Mother's Day it has been blowing, sleeting, raining and even snowing. Even the ducks don't like it much and there Have been two floating in our fish pond. Wouldn't it be cute if we had baby ducklings on the fish pond?

The Robins have nests all around - they started building before we returned from Florida and they thought this was a quiet and peaceful house!!! How wrong they were. The mother who is beside the front door is starting to get used to us.

Come and see us soon. we really do enjoy having guests in our home. There are lots of great shows on at Casino Rama and many festivals around Orillia during the summer months.

The house is now redecorated throughout the great room, dining room and washroom. It all looks fresh and different. New drapes in the living room and dining room make a very nice look to the reception rooms.

The "Blithe Speerit" is sitting on the dock and after a great deal of work by John Kelly and Tony she is now looking in very good shape with very little rotten wood on her. She is varnished up and has a sign with her name on either side. The funnel is freshly painter and the roof fixed up.  ALso she has actually been out on the water twice, once as far as the Port of Orillia - thanks to our boating neighbour Ron.

Now as winter approaches she is being winterized with metal covers to protect her from the elements of winter and to maintain her fresh appearance.

Come and enjoy a relaxing weekend at Betty and Tony's when the cool weather arrives. Curl up in a lazy boy chair and read or watch TV. Enjoy a stroll down Mississauga Street going into the wonderful original shops which will be soon bursting with Christmas ideas.

If not - see you next summer when you can enjoy the garden and waterfront again.

Betty and Tony have returned from a winter in Venice, Florida, and are joining Sherry again to welcome you to their home. They have hopefully come back refreshed and ready to renew old friendships and make new ones. 

You can now book all three of our rooms on this web site, two rooms through BBCanada and one through Booking.com. 

The Orillia Opera House has a full summer theatre schedule called "Laugh Out Loud" and promises to have some fun shows for your enjoyment. We are a great spot to stay before a show. Come at noon and enjoy a relaxing afternoon beside the water in our pretty garden. Have you seen our two new life sized statues we put in last year? If you want to have some exercise before the show come and cycle in the park on our complementary bicycles or paddle out to the lake by canoe or paddle boat.

Casino Rama has a great line up of performers too. This weekend we had someone come from Germany for two nights just to see the show!

Fall is arriving fast and the trees are starting to turn. Our large maple has several red branches which are catching the sun right now and looking beautiful.
At Thanksgiving there is the Images Studio Tour in the region. There are some amazing artists around Orillia and area and are well worth a visit.
Also at Thanksgiving there is the Rama Pow-wow in the village of Rama. Another must for a visit.
We are rapidly filling up over the weekend, but there are still a few vacancies.

We have a room available for the Orillia Scottish Festival from Friday to Monday because of a cancelation. Do you want to come to the Festival? It starts with a fabulous Ceilegh on the Friday evening, a big parade on Saturday at noon and then events all day in Couchiching Beach Park - massed bands, dancers, competitions and retailers. A wonderful weekend in Orillia!

Betty and Tony's B&B is ready for summer! The gardens look wonderful and the canoe is sitting waiting to be taken out.
Our board walk and sea wall have just been fixed up and leveled beautifully by Terry Knappett Enterprises. Terry came in by 60 foot barge with a huge backhoe on board and adjusted the steel wall and releveled the boardwalk. He didn't interfere with one plant or blade of grass. Very impressive. Terry does a lot of work on Lakes Couchiching, Simcoe and Sparrow because of his barge and expertise. He also builds some beautiful custom homes and sea walls.

Terry has a charming personality and is currently working to get his many children through university. He lives in Severn Bridge Hamlet on Sparrow Lake.

Starting on May 20th and going on till October is the Festival of Banners. An outdoor art display of hand made banners. It makes the downtown a colourful and interesting place to be.

June 2-5 - 29th Annual Spring Automotive Flea Market - at Burl's Creek Event Park.
June 4 - Couchiching Point Yard Sale - come and stay at Betty and Tony's and just walk around our neighbourhood.
